Has anyone checked out the tera cycle program? They pay shipping they accept thing such as Capri sun pouches and shampoo bottles recycle them and make new stuff from them, they have a thing that will help you donate to a participating school as well.

Great idea.

My daughter knows all about terracycle and will post here tommorow. She needs to make her sliver award global by posting on websites what she has learned, so please even if you know more about this program please don't post so she can. It would help her project so much to be able to post!!!

pop tabs are saved by all Mcdonalds(last that I knew) for there Ronald McDonald houses. They take them and get money for them because they are metal.  Otherwise put them on freecycle I quarantee there is a group in your area that saves them. I save them for our neighborhood girlscouts and then they turn them into the Ronald McDonald House.

The other thing to do with maps is to tear them up and use them around a picture frame. You depauge them around the edge of a wooden craft frame.  It is a cute way to display anything that was a journey or vacation.

Girl Scout badges you can create a girl scout scrap book and with old pictures have some nice memories. Also, sew them onto quilt squares and they will be desplayed for all to see!  Maybe by doing this you can create an interest in Girl Scout it is there 100th anniversary

If you have old mugs that are solid color have your kids paint them and you will treasure them forever. My girl scouts loved this. I picked up mugs at good will for 10cents
