This Helen Bradley mystery takes the former police officer and secret agent to Washington State to write a travel guide. But once Bradley arrives in the Long Beach Peninsula area, she senses that something is seriously wrong. The woman who began the travel guide died in mysterious circumstances nobody seems to want to discuss. Soon there is another death, and Bradley hears rumors of drug trafficking. Her investigations lead to attempts on her own life. The main character is dynamic Helen Bradley, first marrying her late husband's best friend CIA Super Cop Jason Bradley, the man of her dreams, she is no shrinking violet herself. She ends up staying in a bed and breakfast with the sister and business partner Emily of the late Isabel murdered while working on the same travel guide that Helen is to finish. Strange accidents happen one after another so many that they are not coincidences. Several people disappear only to re-appear. It is a one step ahead of death to identify who the real killer is or is there more than one?
