The book "The Red Tent" has been recommended to me, by a woman who said that it was one of the best books she's ever read. I don't see it listed on CBD.com, and the summary listed on amazon.com mentions that they discuss "sensual and emotionally charged" stories. The sensual part is throwing me off. Is this book appropriate for a Chritian woman's book club? Or is it a little too sexually charged? Any feedback would be very much appreciated. |

I don't consider this book to be "Christian fiction". It's more general market Biblical fiction..meaning it is aimed at a general market audience. |

Ah yes. But... would the sexual discussions in the book be offensive to a christian fiction audience? |

Donna, there are many aspects of the book that may be offensive to a Christian Fiction audience. Here is a thread where we have talked before about this and given our opinions the suitability of this book for CF book club: Last Edited on: 4/2/11 12:28 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

The read tent isn't Biblically accurate either. The book was enjoyable, aside from the sensual parts, but there should be a disclaimer that it's not following the Bible. |

It's been awhile since I read The Red Tent, but I did not enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend it for a church book club. |
