This was a great read. The plot line was different and mesmerizing. The characters real. The dialogue style stayed true for the different characters.
I had just had a conversation with a friend about what to do with the prisoners from G'tmo. I flippantly suggested that we implant a GPS in them and simply track them. Them I start reading Redemption and it got spooky.
HIGHLY recommend this one!

Very entertaining novel set in the not-so-distant future when the government has complete control over us, and criminals are set free with chips in their hands as monitoring devices. Ben Trinity is a convicted terrorist on his way to Spokane when he gets caught in a blizzard in Redemption, Montana and decides to stay. Ben is not what he seems however, nor is the town. I really liked Mr. Jackson's writings and found the story fast-moving and believable.

Interesting. Worth reading. The author bases the story on some "well known truths" that simply are not so. What it is like to serve in Iraq was particularly off base and inaccurate. Not that it makes for a bad story. It is simply an alternate history that is very recent history. Imagine a Turtledove story about World War Two published in 1943. The bad guys were as bad as bad guys are in the real world. The good guys were as good but neither were so far over the top as to be unrealistic. Don't read it if you want a book that agrees lockstep with a particular political belief nor if you want a neat and happy ending.
