A great read by the English author; she and her mate find a deserted, uninhabitated house, Bel-Air. They come to love it; renovate it and make it their summer home; a place to escape to from the city life in England. They become acquainted with the countryside of Provence in southern France; the customs & life of the community; enchanting and serene. The book is a lovely read, has sad moments towards the end of the book as Mike, her husband suffers illness. She shares the experiences quite well. Read the book for a flimpse of the Provencal life; and perhaps an escape to a lovely field of sunflowers.
