Engaging cultural focus builds student competency: To heighten appreciation and encourage students to discuss and explore the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world, cultural material is integrated throughout each chapter in a variety of ways, including notes about popular culture, presentations of idioms, explanations of modern Spanish usage, and practice that encourages analysis of authentic literature and fine art.
