okay, so, I'm going to explain this as simply as possible. I'm just wondering what would you think in such a situation.

There was a deal being offered, 4 for 1. I ordered, and requested my 3 freebies, however somehow in the wrapping/shipping process the sender got a book mixed up and swapped one of my freebies with another person's requested freebies.

When I got my books, I did NOT mark it RWAP, because, it was not a problem, my ordered book was fine, and I did recieve my 4 for 1 deal. I PM'ed the sender and explained what happened and she felt horrible, and ended up refunding mine and the other lady's credits.

The lady that got my book and I have exchanged addresses and are going to send eachother the correct books.

Now, I feel bad, because it was an honest mistake, she was not trying to scam anyone and there was no way I'd ever ASK for my credit back, because she was already giving such a good deal, I got 3 books that I wanted for that 1 credit. I feel like I owed her that credit. Now, She's out 4 books and didn't even keep her credit. I dunno, I just feel weird about it.

Sounds as if you had a great swapper.   I'd let it be since she did it the way she choose.    Just wait and watch and pass along a good deed to someone else along the way.

If you want to give her the credit, then buddy it back to her and PM and let her know that you wanted her to have the credit since you did get 3 books that you wanted and it was an honest mistake.

I;d send the credit back.  You did get the book you ordered and she was great to send you a credit back.  Pat

I would send a credit just for the swapper being so responsible and so willing to make things right.  Its swappers like that who make this pace the wonderful place it is :  )

I had something similar happen to me.  I ordered a book and got another I didn't order.  Pm'd the sender who said "what did you want?"  I told her and she said she'd mail it right out.  So then I felt badly because the book she sent first was similar and in good condition.  When received the second book I buddied her the credit for it because it was also in good condition.  She sent back the credit because she said she didn't feel she earned it.  So I ended up with 2 books and out one credit  - even though that wasn't my intent.  She is an asset to PBS!

IMO, If I'd found a way to rectify the mistake, and now had what I'd originally wanted, I'd buddy the credit back to the original sender, with an explanation of how it all worked out for the best.  Sounds like she was quite responsible for her error.  Wouldn't it just make her day to learn it was corrected?!!!!

On the other hand, you are going to pay postage to rectify this error.  Yet, it was only one credit for more than one book.  Definitely a few sides to this issue!!!!  One of the reasons you are feeling "weird"!!

Go with your gut, it's usually right about what is best for you!
