While this isn't anywher near the best book I've read about Mormon life- it seems to have bene thoroughly researched and Robertson does a very good job of not only letting the reader know what happened in HER life, but also the discrepancies between Mormonism and Christianity.
I'd recommend reading this in addition to other books, not as a sole education tool.
My person feelings are back and forth a bit. It's so hard for me to understand how people buy this crap. I know different things are going on in different peoples lives and all that but seriously, if someone came up to me and tried to sell me something, whatever it may be, I'd do my best to find out all I could before just blindly believing in it.
This was the first account I've read by someone who wasn't either born into the church or was deeply inbedded in the church for most of their life. Mrs. Robertson, her husband and their three children had no ties at all to this religon when they choose to vow their faith.
Other than that I can't really rate it very high but these are purely personal reasons- it's not a bad book per se. There were many quotes that I felt could have been left out- kind of like she figured, hey, why not convert someone if possible. I didn't read the book to be converted- I read it because I wanted to know her experience with becoming a Mormon. I don't like religon pushed on me in any way, shape, or form.
I'd recommend this in addition to other books on the subject- it does give a unique perception into the life after becoming a Mormon.
