Ashley-It's 2 credits now, not 3.   From the Help Center:

After you have Posted the first 10 books to your bookshelf, you get 2 "startup" credits from PBS to get you started swapping.  After that, you earn credits by sending out books to others.

Yes, the number of credits changed from 3 to 2 earlier this month, and they are for posting the first 10 books rather than for just joining.  Also, recently the site added the possibility of printing postage right onto the wrapper.

But my guess is you wrote this before those changes happened.  Thanks so much for sharing it with us, Ashley!

Good review article.  Since you asked, I'll let you know of one minor typo.  You write:

"Paperback Swap has a wonderful set up..."

IIRC, in this case, "set up" should be "setup."  ("Go to the setup screen to set up your computer.")
