/A thorough history of ancient Egypt. It includes a list of major religious sites by area in Egypt and Nubia. There is also a list of current locations of shrines removed during the UNESCO salvage operations at Aswan. And it contains a glossary of terms and
names. Also contained are modern translations of the Aten hymns and daily temple ritual rites. This author implies magic was part of everyday life; however, I still maintain that superstition is not magic. Ancient Egyptians believed that things must be done in a certain way to maintain balance of the universe. Carrying a lucky amulet isn't really magic-but a religious belief system. So read and enjoy but keep an open mind!
