Ok, we'll be dating ourselves, but who remembers a great poetry/prose publication called Common Lives / Lesbian Lives?? It was back in the 80s. A lot of well-known lesbians published in there, but they also reached out to woman who didn't usually have the opportunity to be heard. It was an awesome pub, and it was sad when they closed it down after several years. Anyway, in my former life :-) I was a poet, and I have several issues still. I'm willing to part with them, but I wouldn't them going to anyone who wasn't gay. I'd have to flip through them to make sure there's no spine damage, but off the top of my head I'd guess they're all postable. If there's any interest here, I'd post some. I remember those, Jeanne! They were wonderful. I had some too, years ago! You're right about dating ourselves... <sigh> |

I live in Iowa City, IA and had the honor of being a member of the Common Lives Collective. Publication halted in the mid-nineties becasue of major problems with the main distributor. Many of the collective members are still here in town. |
