3 times this week I've had book requests canceled because the members were unable to mail the book for one reason or another. One was no money until payday in 2 weeks, one was family issues & the other was on vacation. But yet all 3 members still have their shelves open for orders. I sent all 3 reminders of the vacation hold feature, at last their shelves are still open for orders. It's driving me crazy. It's there & easy to use. Plus it holds your place in FIFO rather then canceling & going to the back of the line. I just don't understand & for some reason it really irritates me...especially because 2 of the books were the only copies available & have now been moved back to my WL. Rant over... |

I hear ya! I love vacation hold and use it all the time when my postage budget gets blown too fast by a bunch of orders and I don't have moola to mail books. As you said, it holds your place in the FIFO queue and you don't have to worry about trying to stretch out the acceptance date and then the mailing date as late as possible, thus holding things up for the requesting member, too. I know - it's so easy to use I don't know why more people don't use the hold option. I use it once in a while when I know I won't be able to get to the post office. I would think that if they cancel like this often enough wouldn't TPTB take note of the number of CX's they're doing? If they're doing it to you, they probably have done it before. Gail |
