Most of us on the forms use acronyms such as RWAP, RC, TPTB and others without even thinking about them. We need to remember that these are forum terms and not language used by Paperback Swap themselves. You can't find any information from the Help Center using acronyms. The majority of PBS users (there I just used one) never come to the forums, never seen the terms we use daily so if you write a personal message like this, it may make no sense to the receiver. "I marked the book you sent me RWAP because you didn't follow my RC's and now I'm going to notify TPTB of this situation." Makes sense to us - makes NO sense at all to those many thousands who are active members of paperback swap and never come to this or any other forum. Just a reminder. |

Excellent point, Cozi :) We do get quite caught up in our jargon, especially in the throes of a good debate here in the Questions forum. In the event any members confused by the use of these acronyms do happen to stumble upon this thread, they can check out the PBS Glossary. Last Edited on: 2/20/10 4:39 PM ET - Total times edited: 4 |

Thanks Cozy you know, way back someone told me to report something to TPTB but I didn't see a link for it so I never reported whatever it was......I think it is better to say use the contact us link for feedback and help. I thought we had more than one area for help and never could find the TPTB one |

I am a newbie and have been going through the forums to see what more I can learn about PBS. I don't understand the acronyms you mentioned. And then I find the PBS Glossary link thank you.

Michael, don't be afraid to just ask too. I did that a couple of times when I was new. Couldn't figure out what people were talking about sometimes but they were happy to explain the acronyms to me. |

The one that I notice as missing from the Glossary is TPTB. The Powers That Be. Meaning Richard et al.
