If you cannot meet the requestor's request (if a book she wants is already taken by another requestor and you hadn't gotten to taking it off your shelf yet), don't print the address or mark the book mailed until you have arranged an alternate deal with the requestor. If no alternate deal is satisfactory, the requestor should cancel, so that your book that was requested does not get removed from your bookshelf.  The sender should not cancel--doing this passes the request along to another sender (who is not part of the deal) and this creates confusion.

YES, ABSOLUTELY, I AGREE!!! This just happened to me yesterday, and now I've got a book coming that I only wanted as part of a deal. I would never have selected it to spend a credit on. I lost the credit, I'm no longer getting a deal, and the new sender can't cancel the request because he already mailed the book. Which IS NOT his fault at all.

BUMMER!!!!

l always PM the person offering the deal before I order a book to make sure that they still have the books.  When someone posts a deal on the Bazaar, they usually pay close attention to their e-mail, so I have never had anyone take more than an hour to reply to my PM.

This happened to me, also.  Even after contacting the Offer-er in a PM.  I guess they changed their mind about the deal and my request went to the next in line. I had no idea that I wasn't getting my freebie until the book I'd ordered came in the mail. To further the confusion, I PM'd the sender asking about the freebie. It  took me a while to figure out what had happened!

Since then, whenever ordering a book and requesting a freebie I order the book I want the most and PM requesting my "second" choice.

This is exactly why, when offering bundle deals, I wait until I receive a PM of interest to post any of the books in the bundle to my bookshelf.

I say something like "Books are not on my shelf yet. PM me, I'll post 2 for you to requst, then send all 5." Or whatever the deal is.

Occasionally, I'll have a PM from somebody who doesn't understand why all the books aren't already on my shelf. About 99% of the books I send on PBS are through these offered bundle deals, and I don't even post them to my shelf until getting a PM of interest. This is the reason. There's no chance for someone else to accidently request a book and "bust" the bundle, causing problems like this. Thanks for posting this!

This just happened to me too, and I HAD PM'd first about the deal! Makes me think twice about what I order, and whether to partcipate in deals! It really is a bummer...Debbie

I'm commenting on this so it will be bumped back up to the top, and maybe someone who really needs to read it WILL read it. I just had this happen today, and I am extremely disgusted. Now instead of using my very last credit on what I thought would be a great deal, I just spent it on 1 book that I wouldn't have spent my last credit on.

When ordering double check which shelf you are on. I have accidently ordered from FIFO instead of the person who was offering a deal.

Yes, Patty. I did that once, too. I learned the hard way and haven't repeated that mistake. LOL

I actually checked my transaction history on this deal, just to be double sure of what happened. Didn't want to have to eat crow. ;)
