There is a lot of controversy about "breaking DRM" for personal use..and it has been discussed on other threads (CMT). Until the legalities of this procedure are determined, I would like to suggest that we refrain from discussing procedures for doing this (not the topic itself) on this forum (or anywhere else on PBS forums for that matter)..

Yeah, as much as I agree that it's likely that eventually it will be decided that breaking DRM for personal use is okay, that decision is going to be the result of a court battle, some poor slob somewhere being made an example of -- as in the Napster (or whatever) thing, and I'd hate like anything to somehow get PBS tangled up in litigation even indirectly. In my opinion, there is such a thing as bad publicity, and we all know there's such a thing as legal bills. PBS has been - is still being - good to me, and I don't want to put them at risk for anything.

So that's a yes, wrapped in pre-coffee mutterings.

Agreed.  While I have done it, I will not talk about it publically since the legalities of it are still up in the air.

The info's out there, I'm happy to point anyone in the right direction, but I won't say how to do it on PBS.
