The director of a rape crisis center who was once a prosecuter is pulled back to the law when she is appointed to handle the death row appeal of a young man convicted of a rape and murder. This is a pretty good mystery with a lot of antsy moments.
Cinda Hayes, director of the local rape crisis center and former prosecutor, is appointed by the court to handle the appeals of death row inmate Jason Smiley, who has been convicted of a brutal rape and murder.
After reluctantly starting her investigation, she discovers crucial unexamined evidence that may prove Jason has been the victim of a terrible injustice.
Very interesting legal thriller.
A better than average read but a surprise ending that I did not see coming.
