A member requested a book from me....I printed the wrapping w/ DC for quick credit and was charged the $.27...later that day, prior to my mailing the person requested another book from my bookshelf.  I reprinted the DC (which is what the instructions on my main page said to combine the shipping) and PBS charged me yet another $.27!  Is this correct?  Has anyone had this happen and if so is there a way to get your money back?  I know it's not a lot of money but it's the principle.  It doesn't seem quite fair...if I used paypal shipping and had to cancel a label, I'd get my money back.  Thanks for any help provided!

Are the DC#s the same?  I'm am thinking they won't be because the first one was for 1 book and the order had changed to 2 books for the second label.  You could have mailed with the 1st DC but you'd have only gotten 1 quick credit and the other credit when the book was received.   Does that make sense?

It is true that you can re-print the same label without being charged a second time.

I'm going to go check the HC, too.....

This item talks about printing for multiple book orders:

Will a multiple-book (bulk) shipment sent with PBS-DC get Quick Credits for all the books?

It doesn't specifically address your scenario, Marie, but I think it might still be helpful.

What Beth said  :P the system should re-print the same label without additional charges (I use DC without postage)  But using printable postage may have changed the situation.  Another option would have been to reprint the original shipping label and have your post office add the additional postage - with the added benefit that the barcode will be scanned at the point of sale.

I had one recently and I believe it did the same thing - a new DC is created for the 2 book shipment instead of using the 1 book shipment. The way I looked at it is that I would have paid for 2 DCs sending the books separately anyway so I was not out any money and am saving on postage.

Its also one of the reasons I don't print my labels until I am wrapping up the book. I like to give the other member time to select other books.

As a TG I just had this question on Live Help.  PBS considers that two orders.  You printed one and then printed another.  The best thing to do is what Melanie said, wait to print the label until you're ready to wrap!

I don't use the printable postage...just the DC.. Seems to me there should be a way to cancel the DC...oh well, lesson learned.  I won't be printing any DC till it's time to mail the books!  Thanks for the responses.
