reason...'can't find it' seems like poor inventory control. over this past weekend I had this happen twice. |

I only ever did that once. All of my swap books are in my home office, completely separate from the other books in my house. Could absolutely not find one. Cancelled the order. Turns out I was looking for a book by the picture on the listing, but my HC didn't have the DJ and somehow I totally missed it. Felt bad, but as mine was the only copy inthe system I reposted it and it was quickly ordered--and shipped. |

one of the requests that was canceled was from a member who has over 1000 books on their shelf. I guess with that many books it would be easy to lose one or two. They had a couple of other books on their shelf that looked interesting to me but they have their account on hold now so I guess they are checking their inventory. |

I've had this happen before when a stepchild decided to borrow a book...didn't tell me, just took it and I went nuts trying to find it! I also on several occasions have received requests for books that I had already mailed out...this is a glitch that happens now and then which could also be responsible for a "can't find it" response. |

I have had a three requests cancelled on me. Two people never bothered to contact me at all. On one occassion the book was still listed on their bs. One real nice lady contacted me and apologized the request just timed out on her. She asked if I still wanted it, she sent it, and I sent her a credit. I wasn't in a hurry for the book, and was just glad I got it. On another occassion the book became available again real quick and I was able to get it. I understand when things happen, but it's nice to at least get a PM with an explanation. |

I have a lot of books on my shelves and little by little I've been putting them in alphabetical order by author. I have to admit there were several times I prayed Hail Mary's that I would find the book. I then would chastise myself that God didn't have time for my misplaced books. LOL. I usually found them after sleeping on it overnight and getting up for a fresh look. |

I can't tell you how many times I've looked for a particular book on my bookshelf to read and haven't been able to find it, only to have it glaring at me from the shelf a week later. I blame the ghosts (and I admire their taste in reading material). It certainly makes me more sympathetic to an "I can't find it" cancellation. |

I get the I can't find it, anything can get lost but I have received a couple of times cancelled because, "I just can't part with this book"
Ok, so why did you post it?? |
