I had posted a WL book that went through 2 turndowns. This morning it was no longer requested. I decided today would be my last post office trip for the holidays and put my account on hold.

When I got back from the PO, I found the book had been requested.

I'm pretty irked. How could that happen?

If you put your account on hold, it doesn't change the status of transactions that are active.  I'm not sure what you mean when you say your book "was no longer requested".  Do you mean that it hadn't been requested yet - or that you had somehow managed to cancel it?  I would suggest that since someone has requested it, you cancel the request and say that there was an error.  Cancelling one book won't adversly effect your account!

It was probably on 1hrs Buyers Remorse hold when you put your account on vacation.  If it had gone through the last wisher, someone could have ordered it from the Books Recently Posted page and it wouldn't show up for an hour afterwards.

I just ordered a bunch of stamps from the post office website so I can just pop smaller books in my mail box.  I bought stamps in denominations that I can add up to $2.38 and $2.57 (dc for games).

Or, you could use printable postage just this once and mail it from a blue box and avoid the enless lines.  That's probably what I'll be doing until after the holidays.

There had only been 2 wishes and it went through both of them. I guess it might have been in the remorse period.

I don't want to buy online postage and put all my info online... have to think about this a bit. I had such a traumatic experience with the APS this morning (it froze, *with* my credit card info entered, making me nervous that it would unfreeze and let someone use my card... unlikely, but who wants to have to worry about stuff like that?)

Feel ya!  I went to the PO today and swore I wasn't going back until after the holidays but I had a book requested before I could put my account on vacation hold!  Oh well.  I may click the will mail later button - not sure yet.

Ha! I was thinking I didn't have the right stamp combo. Checked and I have 2 $.75 stamps - which means I need exactly $.88 more - or 2 first class stamps. How perfect is that?
