I have a book that IS a text book and has writings in it. I noted the requester and they did not want the book anymore because of the writings so I cancelled the book. I reposted the book right away and right away it was on someone's wishlist. I accepted it just to find out that the wisher is the same person. She wants me to cancel again. I checked the book and there's 5 wishers for this book and unfortunately I have the only copy available right now. Won't she still stay first in line if I keep cancelling and I'll just keep getting her everytime I post the book again? Lol. In this case, would you just suggest to tell the requester to cancel on her end and go to the back of the line?

No, she will not want to lose her place in line.

You should cancel this time. Then ask the requestor who is first in line to add a RC to her account for no writing. Then post your book, ask her to accept, you click on "Cannot meet conditions" ... and then your book will go to the next person in line. She can then remove the RC from her account.

That way, she stays first in line, and your book can move on.

The other option is for you to wait to post until you see that the Wish Line changes.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I'll do the first suggestion. Don't think I want to try the 2nd one. The books not very popular so it may take a while before someone else posts it.

The books not very popular so it may take a while before someone else posts it.

Which is exactly why it wouldn't be fair to ask her to cancel and go back to the end of the line and have to wait for the other 4 people to get a copy first.

Yes, to get past the first requester will require an RC.  Hopefully she will work with you, another member behind her might be thrilled to receive your book.

Or, you might just have to wait until she gets a copy.  The system allows for the textbook exception, but it's not really set up for it.

Another option would be to ask the original requester to put the copy on her wishlist on hold temporarily.  Then you could post the book and it would go to the next person in line.

I like Sara's suggestion better, though.  If she puts a temporary RC on and you deny the book because of the RC and you say you can't meet the RC, your copy should never be offered to her again.

If I were on her end and inclined to do you a favor, I would be more receptive to putting that item on my WL on hold long enough for you to post your copy to the next person.  The RC route is more complicated, requires more work on her part and has too many places to accidently get messed up. No offense to the OP, but if I got the RC method request from someone I didn't know, I'd be very suspicious that it was a scam to get me to take the books somehow.
