I finally found an answer in another forum. Thanks for the answers. I'm just going to make a seperate list!

I haven't listed on pbs for awhile, since I still have a big chunk of credits. I know I've read discussions about people for or against multiple buys (like in bypassing someone on the waiting list by not actually posting) But is there any way to actually do this on my bookshelf?

We just found out we're moving in 2 months for a job transfer, and we can't take (most of) our 2k+ books with us. I don't need the credits so much as I'd like to find the books a new home, but I don't want to empty the bank by mailing them out seperately. I'd rather just do like a 4/2 or 5/2 offer and clear space while making it worth my shipping.

Like require people only get multiples? Do I just pm them then just not accept their request if they're not interested?

Any tips?

Thanks for reading!

Thanks!

I don't want to post anything until I figure out how to do multiples only. I think I might have to make a seperate 'list' instead of using my bookshelf. I really do have about 2000 books and it would bankrupt me if I had to mail them all out seperately.

Sarah, I think  you should post your deal on your bookshelf, then if someone tried to order fewer I would PM them and say "you missed my deal, here's what I'm offering".  And with 2000 to post there could hardly be anyone who couldn't find 4 or more books they would take off your hands for just 2 credits.

You can do what Jeanne is suggesting, but if someone only wants the one book you need to honor the request. You cannot require someone who have sent a request through your Bookshelf to order more from you to get it. Cancelling requests because people won't order more could get an account closed. Posting a book is an agreement to send it when requested.

I'm new to PBS, so that might be why I'm not getting the essence of your question.

If I understand you properly, you have a bunch of credits that you aren't using, and you have a bunch of books that you want to get rid of before you move.

Why don't you just donate them to your local thrift shop?  Even if you post them, it seems like it would take more time than you have to move them all.  especially if you have to list them, take them to the post office, and keep them organized so you can find one when someone wants to order one.  Your house is probably going to be in disarray in a few weeks, do you really wnat to also have to keep track of 2K+ books?  There will be weeks around the actual move when those books will be in boxes.  What will you do if someone orders a book then?

It seems like the cost is one of the less significant aspects of this.

I'd just take most of them (you can be picky) to your local church, senior center, etc and leave them.  At least they won't charge you money to drop them off!

For the books you have that are wish list books, there is a thread in the Book Bazaar discussion forum called "***January Wish List Multiples***" where you can post a list of wish list books and require that people order at least a set number.  The rules for the thread appear at the beginning of the thread.
