I have found that the PBS mailing labels fit nicely on a book, paperback or hardcover.  However, my bookshelf is filled with audio books.  The label provided usually will fit on a cassette audio book, but will simply not fit on a cd audio book at all.  Is there someway to resize the label to fit on top of a cd audio book?

Actually that's a good question, one that I don't have a answer to. I have had a few that I needed to be smaller to fit. I'm curious about the answer myself.

No, you should not try to resize the label. USPS rules dictate exactly how the PBS label needs to look.

I have received one or two in the past that were obviously shrunk down and made it to me, but I wouldn't suggest doing it since it could result in a lost or returned book.

I mail CD audiobooks allt he time and have no trouble getting the label to fit. I don't mail them without any sort of cushioning though and usually put them in a box or bubble mailer.  I used the 1 page lable option and then cut off the invoice part and put it inside the package.

The size of PBS labels is standardized per USPS requirements, and members should not re-size them...especially if using PBS electronic DC and/or postage.

Maybe if postage/DC is prepaid, but I have never heard of PO having a requirement for font size!  How can there be ANY requirements when PBS isn't even a "for profit" business?  I have cut down the printed page lots of times to more easily fit on a small book and reduce the length of  tape needed.

I worked for Federal Govt for 8 years where I had to mail out a specific sized box(es) every day  and the only requirement that was different from any we use for personal mail sent from home was  whether a "biohazard" sticker had to be affixed or not.

If I pay for everything at PO, why would there  even be any requirement for the address labels to say PBS on them? The PO is not tracking if I'm sending a book due to a PBS swap or just loaning it to a family member

The PBS label has a bar code at the bottom of the address.  Changing the font size by changing the page size will also change the address bar code (as compared to the DC bar code.)  You can do this.  But it may well slow down the book as it might not scan in the postal machines.  This is why the survey form asks if the label is handwritten, to track the difference between the labels with the bar code and the books without PBS labels.

Thanks for the info. I have had several labels I've cut down to fit the bubble mailer (using the one page print option) and I was told that as long as I don't cut off the bar code or any of the address info, that it was fine. None of my packages have had a problem as a result of trimming the page to fit.
