Another great book in his Butch Karp series.
Another journeyman effort by Tanenbaum in the continuing saga of Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi, their oddly gifted children and the maniacs with which their lives are constantly being bombarded, "maniacs" both benign and truly evil. Tanenbaum keeps your attention from 1st page to last. An entertaining crime mystery shot through with strange characters from the streets (and under the streets) of New York.
I'm ready for another book by Tanenbaum. They just don't come quick enough. What a series!
In the tawdry barrens where would be thrillers lurk, Robert K. Tanenbaum's Novels Stand out as oases in a desolate Waste; vivid, witty, unflagging and zestful
---Los Angeles Times
"Resolved" is the fifteenth installment in Robert Tanenbaum's fast-paced well-written series of legal thrillers featuring Butch Karp and his impulsive and volatile wife, Marlene Ciampi. The characters are clear, the plot is ingenious and the tension is palpable. Do yourself a favor and join in the continuing story which promises more to come, yet delivers all you could want in each installment.
I was loving this book, but I thought it ended a bit abruptly. This was my first Karp series book so I was thankful for all the back story set up, but it would have been a bit tedious if I hadn't been a first timer.
What can I say, I really enjoy the Butch Karp series and this book didn't let me down. It was an enjoyable read. Of course, Marlene is always interesting.
Chief Didtrict Attorney Butch Karp is about to confront the most vicious killer he's ever convicted, Felix Tighe, who has just escaped from prison with the help of Arab terrorists.
One of the ongoing story of assistant DA Karp and his remarkable family and their astonishing adventures.
Robert Tannebaum is a new author for me. I'll be reading more of his work for sure. I enjoyed everything about this book: characters I cared about, a plot that engaged me, a finale that satisfied me. And all of it well written and edited. A must read book and author.
Chief Assistant DA Butch Karp is about to confront the most vicious killer he's ever convicted, Felix Tighe, who has just escaped from prison with the help of Arab terroists. Tighe, a clever crazed killer is bent on seeking revenge, yet his vengence is much more personal. with a single-minded deranged fury, Tighe stalks Karp in a twisted game of cat and mouse through the city streets. But his desire for blood won't be satisfied with Karp alone. Tighe wants to hurt him where he is most vulnerable, where Butch Karp's anguish and pain will be sweetest - by targeting his family.
This is the 16th book of Robert Tanenbaum that we've read. That should say it all. I feel like I know these people, Butch, Marlene, Lucy and the rest of the regular characters. I am also very much "at home" in the setting, as I lived a few blocks from the site of their loft on Crosby Street. His characters are very real and the dialogue sounds true. The story is riveting.
Always a great read! The Karp series is the best.
One of the best of the Karp/Ciampi series.
Great suspense! I'm looking for more Tanenbaum books! This is a page turner; can't stop reading.
