I recieved this book. I didn't think it was postable. So I marked it rwp. The sender pmed me and now I can't decide if it is postable or not. Please Help. There is a chunk missing out of the bottom, should show clearly in the pic. But the other pic is where it looks like something was stapled to the book a few times or chewed by an animal.

Thanks for your help,

I can't make any visual sense out of the last two pics. But, if you marked it RWP, why are you asking if it is postable? Why would you mark a book RWP then change your mind and post it? Are you just looking for others opinion about your decision to mark it RWP, or is there some function for telling PBS you changed your mind and removing the mark from the senders record? I'm pretty sure animal chewing is specifically mentioned in the long version of the posting regulations as a no-no.

Measure the chunk missing. A tear of 1 inch in allowed. I don't know if they mean to exempt a chunk torn out, but if a piece cut out can be 1X1, then torn out is probably the same. The other does look like staple marks not chewing to me, but it is hard to be sure from the pics. I would say it is one of those grey area judgement calls on "not excessively worn". I wouldn't send the book myself, but if the sender did think it was postable I wouldn'twaste my breath and just take the book out of PBS circulation.

Thanks Melanie. For me it was a gray area too. I wouldn't post it myself. I would consider it unpostable. But I guess the conditions consider it postable b/c the chunk missing is .75"x1". Thanks for everyones help.
