I wonder if PBS could send an email or put up a banner announcement on the site re:reminder to place account on vacation hold. I requested 12 books over the past 2 weeks and only had responses from 3 members

Joni - The Team doesn't read the forums so if you have any suggestions, the best thing is to send it to them via Feedback (scroll down click 'Contact Us' under 'Company'.)

Regarding your suggestion, I'm not sure that it would be practical. If you send reminder emails to people that are not going on vacation, some of them may get confused and wonder why they are being told to put their account on vacation hold (sadly, not everybody reads everything carefully). Maybe a banner announcement would help but again, that would only remind people that are logged in the site and those most likely participate enough to have a better understanding of the rules.

Although only 3 successful requests out of 12 seem to point out to people going on vacation, it may be that the people who haven't responded aren't active on the site at all so putting a reminder about vacations wont' help either. Just think that you are doing your best to weed out from the system those people that are not active in the site anymore (when they didn't respond in time, those requests were passed on the next member in the FIFO line.)

Thanks DG! I will contact PBS as you suggested. It is so frustrating. I spent hours searching & choosing books for myself & my grandson. Oh well. Some people may have alot going on in their lives and cannot get to the requests. Who knows? Thanks again for your response & suggestion! Joni
