Has anyone ever had this problem? Several months ago I shipped 3 books by the same author to a reader. They were never received in and ultimately declared lost in the mail. I had sent her an email before that to see if she had received them and perhaps forgot to mark them, but no response. Checked her account and found it to be on hold. Why order and then do that? I recently checked her account again and it is off hold, so I sent another pm to see what had happened? I wouldn't care so much, but it was 3 books. As yet, she has not responded. Now I'm just curious. Any ideas as to what is going on here? |

Any ideas as to what is going on here? Could be you got scammed. Hopefully that's not what happened. But there is nothing to stop someone from not marking a book as received and then getting their credit back. I hope that PBS keeps track of members who have books "going lost" to stop someone from scamming before they get away with it very many times. I would write to PBS at their "contact us" link and let them know what's happening with this member. If they are scamming people, you will be doing the rest of us a favor by exposing this member to PBS. |

Sometimes things happen in peoples lives that might force them to put their account on hold abruptly. With that in mind. I would wait a few days for a response (not everyone has an addiction to this sight!! LOL). If you still don't get a response I would PM her again, expressing your concern and wondering if she ever received the books you sent her, etc... Then I would watch her Bookshelf to see if she reposts the books you sent to her!! (That's just me, I'm suspicious at heart!!! I read to many mysteries!!) |

I recommend if you PM, to do it from the transaction archive. Then your PM will go on the record with the book. If you did do this and have not received a response in a week, then contact PBS. Folks are suppose to respond to PMs about problem transactions. PBS can review all of the person's transactions. |

Then I would watch her Bookshelf to see if she reposts the books you sent to her!! I checked on the very first book declared "lost" that I mailed and sure enough, it was on that member's shelf. It could have been that she got another copy (though it was WL at the time) and that was the one she added to her shelf later, but it did make me suspicious however. Oh well... |
