This is a how-to book on restoring everything from antique guns to -ahem-books. It reads like a PBS (Public Broadcasting Station~) program and could easily be in a lineup with _Antiques Roadshow_ (that is, if original dirt were not an issue with your junk). It guides you on how best to clean your items (beadwork with soapy water, stuffed animals with Fuller's earth, stains on china with water and baking soda), repair them, restore furniture and so forth. Published in England in 1970.
A quote from the book:
(pg 233)
------------------------
FOX MASKS. Fox masks abound in this ferocious land, and you might acquire one by inheritance, especially if you live in the country. A good brushing should keep Charles James clean, and his teeth could be given a wipe with a little domestic bleach or hydrogen peroxide if they have become yellowed.
-------------------------------
Good to know! And who calls foxes Charles James??
