An out-of-print analysis of Billy the Kid.
Was he gunned down in 1881?
Was an 90-year-old Texan the real Billy? The author thinks it is more likely than not. Sprinkled with old photos.

The Plano, Texas, publisher has issued a great many volumes of local history. My copy is from the first printing and, as the book is not so common, it may never have been reprinted. The author gathered every scrap of information he could find to examine the contention that Billy the Kid survived and had a long, but very quiet life. In the early 1990s Mr. Jameson worked the ground, doing interviews, writing letters, and obtaining copies of official documents. There is a comparison of the cranial features, many period photographs, newspaper articles, etc. The bibliography is long and detailed.
If nothing else, I found the information shared here took me back to those days. Also, remember that out West newcomers were valued for what they brought to help the community and not required to share their past.
Bibliography, endnotes, index.
