I think that I was let down by this book. But this may be my fault, I think I wanted to book to be about something that it wasn't. For some reason, I read the blurb, and thought that the returned were like abducted by aliens or something. This is what I was looking forward to! Unfortunately for me, it was about what the blurb said. Dead people coming back to life.

After I started reading it, I realized that this is the book that the television show Resurrection is based on. Yay, because I've been watching it, and love it! Sadly, other than the original concept and some of the names, there aren't many similarities between the show and this book. Which is actually kind of a good thing, because it means that the show might continue to be great.

It's just that I kept waiting to find out why, what was it all about. What was the purpose of these people coming back? Why only certain people? Is there something special about where they land? None of these questions were ever answered. Yes, a let down.

This book was a huge disappointment. Very boring, very shallow - no depth to the characters emotions on seeing their 8 year old son returned from the dead 50 years later. I could not get through it and quit after 130 pages. Too many good books out there to waste time on one that is boring me.

A brilliant concept for a novel...what if someone you loved who died, suddenly returned? I expected this book to go places it never went. There was so much potential here, but it never developed. I was really disappointed. Stopped reading it in the middle of the book for a few days because it was so damn boring, nothing happening. Repetitive dialog.."I don't want to do this".... "then don't"..."I really don't want to do this, I have no choice." " Then don't" "I have no choice." & so on! Yes! We get it already!!! Very confusing mini chapters thrown in, like 2 pages long, about characters on the other side of the world...with no connection to the main story. What was the point of these, I have no idea. They were never followed through on or connected to the central characters. This book got a lot of praise in the press but it really fell flat for me. The last chapter was more interesting, but still, just "EH".

It was a good book, not quite what I was expecting, comparing it to the TV series on AMC, but still good none the less.
