Hi Everyone! I just received in the mail today, an RAOK package that I had mailed to someone. I generally write PBS RAOK near my address which I thought was a suggestion in the "rules". The PO had stamped all over the package "no such number" (meaning my address). Because of that, I opened the package intending to remail in another padded envelope. The items I was mailing were so broken that I PMed the intended recipient that they wouldn't be getting the RAOK after all. SO.... my question is, has anyone else had issues with the PO returning packages when you write PBS RAOK on the package? |

I only recently started writing PBS RAOK on the packages but I don't write them near my address. I"ve been writing them in a bottom corner of the package, underneath both of the addresses. So far, I haven't had a RAOK returned to me or had my college mail room ask me about the note in the corner. |

I think that I may try that. I have received some RAOKs where the sender has PBS RAOK as part of their sticky address lable above their name. That may be another option to try. |

Haven't had any issues writing PBS RAOK on my envelopes or packages I send out. Under my address label I usually write my PBS nickname in quotes. I put RAOK in bottom lefthand corner ( to the left of recipient's address). |

I haven't had any issues with this. Usually I write it on the bottom left corner or on the back near the seal. I'm sorry to hear that happened! |

Usually the postal carriers in my neighborhood take special care to route packages to the intended addressee. Even when a package has an address that's not quite accurate, it seems to make it to my house. I'll take a stab at it and say that this package was received by a substitute postal carrier in my area. It's been my experience that when problems do occur with my packages, it's due to a substitute postal carrier's lack of motivation. There is a forum for post office questions at PBS. If you are interested in researching this topic, you may find this forum useful. There are many postal workers that frequent that forum. |
