Hello - I am a mom and bookseller who has recently started a blog where I review chapter books that are lesser known and more unique that most of what you'll find on the shelves of your local bookstore. My goal is to help parents find good books for advanced readers (with appropriate content) and inspire a love of books in new readers by suggesting great titles that you may not have heard of as well as suggesting similar books, providing genre based reading lists and tips on how to tell the real reading level of books and good books for emerging readers. Although I am not a homeschooling parent, I have the opportunity to interact with many of you while at work and I know that most homeschooling curriculums have a strong foundation in literature. I hope you'll give it a look and find some great new books for your kids to read!
Regards - Tanya at www.books4yourkids.com

It's not a series but my kidlets loved Marvin's Mansion by Ken Wilkins so much that they have spoken to him and asked when he is going to write the next book continuing the story of Marvin. Rough plot: Marvin finds his farm home is too crowded and when a group of mice decide to hitch a ride on a wagon to find homes in the city, he joins them. A near accident sends Marvin and several other mice into the ditch. They must work together to survive and find a place to call home. I would love to see this become a series myself. Also I don't know why Amazon has this in the religion & spirituality section, I don't recall anything spiritual in it at all. |
