What makes you want to re-read a book? I have seen several posts where you ladies have re-read a whole book or just parts. I normally don't do re-reads but found when looking over books I have previously read in the Top 100 of 07 list that I am wanting to read them again....

I noticed my tendency  to grab comfort-reads over and over again. Why?  Because it leaves me feeling really good and allows me to escape to a world unlike mine for few hours... I mean isn't that what romance books are suppose to be all about. ^_^

I've read some really great books, that were truly harsh and "realistic"... I would never read those again LOL.   Never.

This thread was spurred by me wanting to read through the Top 100 of 2007 list. I recognized several of the titles as books I had read but then when reading the back I couldn't really remember the story lines. I figured since these were considered good reads by so many that I would treat myself to them again!

Uhh now how am I going to keep up with all the old stuff, new stuff, and my life!

- - - - Oh BTW, I have a few like you that although they were good books, I just couldn't see myself going back to them because they don't leave you with that happy fuzzy feeling afterwards!

I re-read them when i want to read something and  know that i won't be disappointed. Nothing i hate worse than getting excited about reading a new book and then being let down.

What she said! Exactly! Comfort read - I know I'm going to enjoy it. I have comfort listens too. Same thing I guess, on audio.

I'm definitely with you Tina.  Nothing like a cozy romance that you are guaranteed to love, right?

I have so many new books that I don't reread that much anymore, but I just seem to get a craving for certain specific scenes and want to reread them. I had one book that I thought was pretty awful, but it had just a few great scenes that stuck with me... I finally xeroxed them and then passed it on. ;-)

some books I just love the story or there's something romantic..or hey some pretty hot s-e-x that I just like to read. my re-reads are usually Linda Howard's mackenzie books, a few by Jayne Ann Krentz that I just like..I can see myself re-reading Robyn Carr's Virgin River and maybe even the Grace Valley ones..jennifer crusie's for the funniness. I'm a chicken so I like toknow what's gonna happen..to me it's like watching a favorite movie over and over.
