Throughout the course of the book it seemed like the characters only tolerated their disdain for each other because the relationship was convenient. They were always finding flaws with the other, complaining about them, focusing on their sexual incompatibility. It made it really hard to put forth the effort to decode his writing, because I never really cared about the characters or their relationship. Only at the very end did the author start to express any kind of genuine affection between the characters, but it was way too late to make up for the antipathy expressed in the bulk of the novel.

Beautifully written, tells a tale of a complex romance that tends to reflect real life. Love the way the sounds and beats of the words work in this book. If you can get through the weird style, its worth the read.
