Rick Steves' travel books are timeless, the information in this books is still very useable. Tips on making the most of your travel overseas like planning your itinerary, packing light, railpass buyers guide, sleeping and eating WELL on a budget, help with the language barrier, making friends with the locals (VERY important in my opinion), avoiding tourist traps, stress, thieves, etc. This book also is continually updated online by following the links in the book.
