It was OK. It was kind of disjointed in my opinion. McCaffrey skipped from character to character, which was a little annoying. And it started out pretty dry. Lots of information on parapsychology. But I know it's ground setting for the other books in this series. This book almost seemed like a ton of short stories strung together and there were a couple that were superb. So I have hope that the rest of the series and related series will get better and better.

They were four extroardinary women who read minds, healed bodies, diverted disasters, foretold the future--and became pariahs in their own land. A talented, elite cadre, they stepped out of the everyday human race...to enter their own!
