Awesome book!!! I could not put it down. He is one of my favorite authors and this is one of his best works. Perfect for anyone who is interested in the confict and hardships of the Palestinians in the Middle East as well as the turmoil of Russia after the fall of communism. Never fear, the author also makes room for a love story.

Part suspense thriller, part historical fiction, part spirituality. A great read. Explores the possibility of transforming militant Islamic regimes into nuclear powers...a missionary delivering medical supplies in the Causcaus Mountains is brought together with a foreign officer in the Jordanian desert, High stakes political and spiritual conflict...and a touch of romance at the end.

This is an excellent story with lots of intrigue & an amazing amount of good information about Chechnya, Ossetia & Georgia. While the book was written in 1994, the story is as true today as when it was first written--how to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. If you are concerned with Iran's desire to wipe out Israel, then you will appreciate the book. The story itself is fascinating & kept me reading even when I needed to put it down. There's a good map in front that helps keep the geography straight. My husband also read it & gave it 5 stars.
