I keep starting these books thinking I'm not going to like them and I get sucked in. I loved this book even more than the first one. Absolutely can't wait for the next one.

Evan better than the first book. More complex, good background history on Graham and his father. Love the intrigue with the different vampire factions around the world. Romance is sweet and believable. Can't wait for book 3.

This was a bit slower than book 1, it took a little bit of time to really take off. Once it did, oh boy. I really, really didn't want Adele to marry Senator Clark (I didn't like him and he didn't respect Adele or her abilities) and I was happy with the resolution. I love, love how Greyfriar had no problem deferring and taking orders from Adele. He was quietly supportive. Awesome villain(s) (some that I knew, others that I wondered about, and the surprises).

Looking forward to book 3 (The Kingmakers), strongly considering pre-ordering book 4 (yes, there is a 4th book listed!)

I love this series. I found this second book just a bit harder to get through than the first. While the characters definitely grow and things change, I found that parts of the book got a bit too bogged down in the political parts of the story. I also found the constant change of viewpoint to be a bit frustrating. Still, the story sucked me in, and I can't wait for the third installment to be released.
