I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting fed up with the USPS. This was in the help section: Books need to get where they are going on PBS, and the USPS rate of package loss is really low--a high outgoing (or incoming) loss rate can almost never be blamed solely on USPS. I've had 3 books enroute to me that have been lost. I've sent one that was just marked lost. I've had personal mail overnighted--delivered 3 days later (yes got my refund) I usually send stuff priority now--- which means I paid more to have it get there whenever. I sent a letter priority and it was delivered 2 months later. I'm not bashing PBS. Just venting I guess. |

You know, it is funny....but I have two books right now that are on the verge of being lost in the mail??? Both are coming to me- one from CA and one from NY (the state I live in). Both have a 'date of action' set for this Friday. I have been using PBS for a year, and since then I had one book sent to me that has been lost in the mail. Now I may have two in a row?? My sister lives on the West Coast and she told me the other day she sent books to New Jersey and it took a three and a half weeks. She also sent a book to Michigan and it was the same thing. At least they made it. I don't know what is going on with the postal service. Bad weather? Layoffs? Are so many people re-routing so much mail because they have moved and the USPS cannot keep up? I know that the postal carrier in my neighborhood is now arriving close to between 5:30 and 6:00 at night. Two years ago I used to get the mail by noon.... Thanks for letting me vent :)

Wow! I guess we're blessed in this area. In 2 1/2 years only 2 or 3 books have gone missing. Another recently "found" it's way after several months. The only time our mail is delivered late is when our carrier is out from sickness or family sickness. On her day off the substitute is acquainted with our route so it doesn't take him long to do 2. All my books 7oz or over go MM. So far, no problems! |
