Book 2 in the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. The hero is Rion who was introduced as an enigmatic player in the search for the Grail in the first book. The heroine is Marissa, Lucan's sister who we met briefly in the book one also. The book takes place several months after the end of the last book. Earth's racial fertility issues have been resolved and everyone is madly conceiving babies. Humans who can trace their ancestry to King Arthur have become dragon shapers and are adjusting to two major changes in their lives.

Rion has been trying to get Earth to offer aid to his home planet which is under the control of the Unari, part of the evil Tribes movement. He has been unsuccessful - after all there is no REAL proof they're coming to Earth and there are some many things they are having to deal with now... Marissa has found she is telepathic with humans in dragon form and has been helping people learn to cope with their 'dragon side', either singly or in groups. Rion decides to return to his planet but kidnaps Marissa to help him get the word out to rebels on his world [all infrastructure is either smashed or under Unari control]. And Merlin, the owl from the first book comes along to help out...

Order is very important, I'm looking forward to Jordan.

I love this series. It's futuristic and mostly takes place on an alien planet but the hero is amazing and the heroine is a perfect partner/mate.

When Lucan and Cael returned to Earth (book 1, Lucan) with a cure for the Earth's infertility problems, the side effects created a new job for Marisa Rourke (Lucan's sister). The biggest side effect morphed humans into dragonshapers. Of course, humans don't shift so they had major control issues and Marisa, having psychic abilities, was able to teach the shifters control. This was now her government job and she was real good at it. Lucan's friend and fellow Honorian, Rion Jaqard is one hot alien and Marisa cannot stop herself from fantasizing about him. Unfortunately Rion shows zero romantic interest in his best friends sister. Hmmm, give it a shot or whimp out... that's the question facing Marisa and for which you will have to read the book to find out what she chooses. I will tell you that it's a smoking hot book and wait til you see who Jordan is. WOW I surely didn't see that coming.

I loved this book. I recommend this as a must read. Susan Kearney always keeps me
interested from beginning to end. The only downside is I love a stronger minded female
character and Marissa was a little to submissive for me.
