I enjoyed this book, but it did become bogged down with the two parallel stories. The story about Carlton was great in and of itself, without the narrative of the man who discovers Carleton after many years. The narrative really cuts apart the story of Carlton, IMO. But the book is still worth a read. Its concept is very clever and there is a lot of wit in Carleton's story.
