If you like Robyn Carr's Virgin River/Grace Valley series you should check this out.  She has a "chat" group on Yahoo Groups and she runs it and participates in it.  Its so cool to talk and interact with her about her books.  I ran across it purely by accident the other day.  If you want the link, just PM me.

I emailed Robyn Carr yesterday asking her about how these 2 series are related and she emailed me back today! Here's the email:

Hi Susanna -- You came to the right place!  I know the answer!  ;)

I wrote the Grace Valley series a few years ago.  The first, Deep in the Valley, was published in 2000.  They were so popular, people kept writing and asking if I was going to continue the series.  But with Grace Valley, I had developed a story arc involving June Hudson that was complete in 3 books; I didn't want to disturb characters who had settled into their happy endings.

So -- I put Virgin River close by.  Mel Sheridan, who anchors that series, is a nurse practitioner/midwife in a small town of 600.  There are times she needs to take patients to the larger Grace Valley clinic and times Doc's Hudson and Stone come to Virgin River -- they all become friends, back each other up, etc.

So, the connection is loose -- it doesn't matter which series you read first.  And the demand for Grace Valley has caused the publisher to reissue in August with all new beautiful cover art.  And not long after that -- 4 more Virgin River novels in the continuing series:  November brings A Virgin River Christmas, then in Feb/Mar/April the next 3.

So -- tell the girls over at paperbackswap.com what's up with the series, and I hope they're having a good time in my small towns.  God knows I am!!

Thanks for writing, Susanna.  Take care,

Robyn
