Somewhere in Time by Merline Lovelace is set in Ancient times.  Its a Harlequin but pretty good how she set it up.  Its on my shelf too if you want to try it.

Michelle Styles has one called The Gladiator's Honor. I haven't read it but I do have it in my TBR.

Looks like she has another one called The Roman's Virgin mistress, don't care for the title lol!

Lynn Bartlett did one some time back - dang but the title escapes me - but it's something of a classic. There are the Lindsey Davis mysteries set in ancient Rome.

Should have said the Bartlett is ancient Rome. Double dang....should have Googled before original post. Looked up the title of the Bartlett - it's DEFY THE EAGLE (1987).

There is a whole series of books by Lindsey Davis, they arn't exactly romance but the have a really strong and loving relationship between the hero and heroin and are set in70's BC Rome.
