The romance takes up the story of Perceval after his visit to Grail Castle, when he failed to ask about the Grail. A strong crusader ethos is reflected in the latter part of the romance, while the earlier episodes are rich in the folklore elements and marvellous happenings of the type favoured by Weston. Weston's observations on the romance remain relevant to current scholarly debate.« less
