An excellent book. Very well written account of the possible mother of Richard III's bastard children. The children are known to history, the mother is not. Paints Richard III in a more favorable light than history has generally portrayed him. Anne Easter Smith is a member of the Richard III society. Very enjoyable reading!

I was pleasantly surprized at how quickly over 600 pages flew by. If you enjoy Philppa Gregory, you're sure to like this book, as well.

The great personal story is true, and the novel is sad but interesting.

I loved THE SUNNE IN SPLENDOR and I liked this book as well. I want to know more about Richard.

Regarding THE PRINCES IN THE TOWER, I think Buckingnam may have been the culprit, in the same way that Reginald FitzUrse, Hugh de Moreville, William de Tracy, and Richard le Breton murdered Thomas Becket several centuries earlier. These things happened in those times. Great kings rarely ascended to thrones peacefully.

Did you know that within the past few decades the skeletons of two small boys, thought to be those princes, were found under the stone rubble of an obscure collapsed staircase at the Tower of London?

I love historical fiction and I loved this book. I was at first intimidated at its size, over 600 pages but I read it in about 2 weeks because I was hooked. It follows King Richard's "mistress" long before he was king up until well after his death. I only left wondering 1 think that either I missed or was never wrapped up, what really happened to Elinor?
