This book is the best source for information on restaurants along Route 66. Some are already gone but memories remain. The book is filled with pictures, stories, 1st person memories and over 200 recipes from restaurants, diners, and one of a kind eateries all the way from Chicago, [on its 20,500 mile journey through 8 states] to Los Angeles. It is an invaluable guide for those traveling and for those who have memories of trips down Route 66 beginning in the 30s and 40s and continuing today. Every town offers a unique piece of history.

I read it cover to cover, as I would a novel. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking, Route 66, or just reading about either! Yes, it has great recipes. But it also has wonderful information on Route 66 itself.
