Not as good as her other books, but still enjoyable
An enjoyable book, but I didn't like it as well as Winnie the Horse Gentler, or the Backyard Horses books. I think this book will definitely connect with people, though, especially children who are used to being passed around and not wanted. Even though I don't like this as well as her other books, I look forward to reading the series as it comes out.

This is a good story about rescued children and rescued pets, all living at a place in the country called Starlight Animal Rescue. Both the animals and pets need lots of love and attention, which they get from the Coolidge family. The foster parents show the love of Jesus and help out the children and pets that are sent to them. I enjoyed this story very much.
Dakota is a runner. She's always running away from the foster homes that she is placed in... until she is taken to Starlight Animal Rescue and meets Blackfire.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes to read about animal rescue shelters, foster homes, or foster children.
