This book is based on the author's visit to his childhood home of Sri Lanka. Not really what I thought the book was going to be as there is no real plot, or even a definite timeline of his trip. Descriptions of different locations on the island, and the family memories that they evoke, are intermingled so that each section is kind of a little story of it's own. I was expecting it to be more of a biography, but it kept my attention & was fun to read.
