I have a book to list but it comes out as a hardcover instead of a paperback. There are no options to click underneath like there are for other books. Any suggestions on how to post it? Thanks. |

Welcome to PBS. You need to post it without an ISBN number. From help:

Thanks, Emily. : ) |

Do check that you are posting it by it's number. And that it is not an ARC. (ARC- Advanced Reader's Copy - these are proofs that are printed as paperbacks with the HB ISBN. ARCs can be offered in the forums but cannot be posted.) Not all versions are linked or show up under a search by author. |

Welcome to PBS Susan! Excellent of you to notice the difference and ask for a solution. Many members have a PB/HC preference and receiving the wrong book can be an unpleasant surprise. Posting the wrong binding can result in you receiving a RWAP, which you'd really like to avoid. Some publishers use the same ISBN for both hard cover and paperback editions. Whichever is in PBS first will determine the listing here. In cases like this, the other binding must be posted without an ISBN (As Emily posted above). Once in a while, the PBS description is incorrect. If you've researched elsewhere and are certain the PBS listing is incorrect, you can contact the book data correction team. Thanks for all your help. I made doubly sure that it was the ISBN number. It's not on anybody's wish list and probably won't be a "sought for" book so I'll donate it to the library.
Again thanks for the help. You folks sure are a blessing. : ) |

If it happens again and you have to get a short ISBN then be sure to tag the existing book's listing page with your short PBS number so that people can get there easier. I'd give it a chance for a little while before donating it. If there are few of them in the system(especially if it would be the only copy) it could get ordered. You never know. You could put it in your signature line. Sometimes hsving the only one in the system gets it ordered quickly. Ruth |
