I just read this article on the group SAGE (Service and Advocacy for GLBT Elders):

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081004/ap_on_re_us/gay_elders;_ylt=AuS03MX57VXRI56cRDoHxy2s0NUE

I'd love to volunteer with my son for this group, but can't seem to find any info on whether or not they're located in Vegas.  I've tried going to their website, but it won't connect.  Any help would be appreciated!!!  :)

UPDATE:  Ok, I got their website to work and I think it's only based in NYC.  :(  I'd REALLY like to figure out some way to do the same sort of outreach to LGBT seniors here in Las Vegas.  Any suggestions?

Oh, in case anyone's interested here's their website:  SAGE Homepage

"SAGE Net: Since SAGE was founded in 1978, activists in a number of communities around the country have started their own SAGE affiliates to serve and advocate for GLBT seniors. SAGE works with affiliates in cities like Milwaukee, Chicago, and Syracuse to make life better for GLBT older people in their home communities and across the country."

Totally sounds as if there interested in expanding.  I'd call and let them know your interest.  I'm sure they'd be willing to share some of their history.

I actually first heard of them today at a meeting where they mentioned one of their events, so I guess their pretty well known.  Las Vegas does indeed need something like this.
