Hi, I have had one of my books requested 3 times now by the same person who has "conditions". I keep stating that I cannot mail the book and the following week it's requested again. And everytime I look to see how many copies there are, it always says "3" available. Guess there is really nothing I can do about it, but was wondering if any of you have come across this issue before. Thanks!

Are you clicking "I Cannot Mail This Book," or are you clicking "Book Does Not Meet Requestor's Conditions"? Maybe not the exact wording, but there are two different buttons when a requestor condition is there. If yours doesn't meet their conditions, you should click the Does Not Meet Requestor Conditions button. If you're already clicking that button and this is still happening, then I'm not sure what to tell you! Maybe someone else can help. =) |

Yes, you are caught in a loop. The requestor also has the option to re-request without the RC. Sounds like the other two also don't fit the RC or are on vacation. And it is likely the requestor will ask again, trying to get below you in the FIFO line. |

My guess is that all three copies are turning down the RC so it just keeps cycling through all of you. If thats they case, grin and bear it and hope that your copy is requested by someone else or a new member posts a copy soon. |

I think you can contact TPTB also and ask them to take you out of this loop. Just click the "contact us" link at the bottom of this page. |

"The alternative is to send a PM stating that if they would like the book they need to remove their RC and request again. Let them know that you CANNOT meet their RC but if they are willing to accept the book without the RC you will send it (if you are willing to do so, that is)." This is risky. The Requestor may order the book, get it, and decide she didn't like the book in the condition that was sent and mark it received with a problem or something to that effect. Depending on what the RC is, people request them that way for a reason. |

In order to PM you need accept the request. Then if they don't want it the decision has to be made as to who cancels. If you put the individual book on hold then you lose your place in FIFO line. Which may not be a big deal if there's only 3 copies available. I would contact PBS and ask them to fix this because it sounds like you are caught in glitch. |

I think you can get their PM from the transaction archive. |

I think you can get their PM from the transaction archive - not on denied RCs, those don't show up anywhere. You'd have to accept and cancel for it to go to the TA. |

I am on the other end of this loop. I have been trying to order Everlost for two months. All of them are wish listed. Every time i get the book, I get the same person that is a smoker. I cannot take a book that is smoking so he refuses because of my RC. That puts me on the reminder list, and I loose my place in the wish list line because there is a book available. I wait till I see all of them gone, then put the book back on my wish list. It gets posted again a few weeks later and boom! gets cancelled again and I'm back to the reminder list. I have yet to successfully get this book and I finally gave up and just took it off my wish list. Very frustrating and I am NOT willing to ever accept a book from a smoker. Oh well. Oh, I did email PBS, they suggested waiting a few weeks and wishlisting it again. Did that 3 times already........ Last Edited on: 5/29/09 5:02 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thank you all for your replies!!! Great group here. Will try all your suggestions. It is very much appreciated. Rebecca, I feel your pain, I feel bad for the requestor who keeps getting turned down. Elaine
